The Karl Amadeus Hartmann Society/Hartmann Center is hosting the hartmannforum for the second time on 27 November 2024 at 6.30 pm. The format is intended to serve as a new platform for promoting young musicologists in German-speaking countries. The scientific conference hartmannforumwill be held in the premises of the Karl Amadeus Hartmann-Gesellschaft/Hartmann-Center in Franz-Joseph-Str. 20 80801 Munich. The overriding theme is Karl Amadeus Hartmann’s Concerto funebre for violin and string orchestra. The lecture evening comprises a keynote lecture and two contributions of approx. 45 minutes (including audio samples), one of which will deal with the Concerto funebre from a music-analytical perspective and the other from a music-historical perspective. We will also listen to the Concerto funebre as an audio recording in plenary. There will be a discussion and an opportunity for exchange at the end.
