It is with great sadness that the Karl Amadeus Hartmann Society / Hartmann Center bids farewell to its long-standing member and former Chairman of the GEMA Board of Directors, Prof. Dr Reinhold Kreile, who passed away on Friday, 30 August 2024, at the age of 94. Reinhold Kreile was not only a committed member of our society, but also deeply connected to the musical legacy of Karl Amadeus Hartmann and the Hartmann family. Music was always at the centre of his work, and with his death Munich’s cultural life has lost an important personality. The Karl Amadeus Hartmann Society / Hartmann Centre will always honour Reinhold Kreile’s memory.
